Hangzhou Bars:
Didi , 130 Tiyuchang Lu. A mainly Chinese disco playing a mix of Mandarin and Western tunes, although you can bring your own CDs to play as well. A good place to meet Chinese students.
LA Disco , Fifth Floor, Wahaha Gongsi Building, 169 Qingchun Lu. The current disco of choice among foreign and Chinese students alike, notable both for its good mix of dance music and the huge trampoline occupying the middle of the floor.
Soho , 52 Qianwangci Lu. Intimate pub frequented by twentysomething locals for its mellow atmosphere and cheap beer. The Chinese house band plays a mean set of American classic rock songs.
Tom's , 103 Nanshan Lu. The principal hang-out for foreign students from nearby Hangzhou University, with a student band jamming onstage most weekends.
