Ayam Goreng Priangan , Jl Sabang 55a. Fairly inexpensive Indonesian fried-chicken restaurant. Try ayam bakar, chicken cooked in coconut milk and grilled in a sweet soya sauce, for Rp7700.
Akbar Palace , Wijaya Grand Centre, Kebayoran. Excellent north Indian restaurant, which serves some wonderful tandoori dishes.
Café Batavia , Taman Fatahillah, Kota. One of the city's best and most popular places, serving delicious Chinese, Indonesian and Western dishes, and over sixty cocktails. Nightly live jazz and soul. Pricey. Open 24 hours.
