All scheduled flights , both domestic and international, currently use Sukarno-Hatta airport (tel 021/5505000). DAMRI buses depart for the airport from Gambir station every thirty minutes from 3am to 10pm (45min; Rp5000). A taxi from town to the airport costs from Rp20,000.
Most of the trains travelling to West and Central Java destinations begin their journeys at Gambir station, including those to Yogya, Solo and Bandung. There are two special offices (daily 7.30am-7pm) selling tickets for the luxury trains, such as the Parahiyangan express to Bandung and the Argolawu express to Yogya and Solo.
Pelni ferries sail from Tanjung Priok harbour. Bus #P14 runs from Tanah Abang via Jalan Kebon Siri, at the northern end of Jalan Jaksa, before continuing on to Tanjung Priok bus station, 500m from the harbour. Allow at least 75 minutes for your journey from Jalan Jaksa.
The capital has good bus connections to all points in Java, and many cities on neighbouring islands too. There is usually a range of prices for every destination, depending on the type of bus you're travelling in. Tickets bought from an agency in town are more expensive, but as some of the buses leave from outside the agency, you're saved a trip to the bus station.
