Banks and exchange Many of the banks, Sarinah, the post office and Gambir have their own ATM machines, which offer a better rate than any bank or moneychanger. Otherwise, the Bank BNI and Lippobank, just west of the northern end of Jl Jaksa on Jl Kebon Siri, offer the best rates in town, with the latter also offering credit-card advances. The AMEX office is at Graha Aktiva, Jl Rasuna Said, Kuningan (catch bus #11 heading south from Sarinah) and is currently the only place that accepts Australian dollar travellers' cheques (AMEX only). The InterAsia moneychanger at Jl Wahid Hasyim 96a is reasonable for cash exchanges, but offers poor rates for travellers' cheques.
