Casa , at the Sharaton Hotel, Street 47. Late-night club, with Asian/Western crossover and live band. Good fun at 2am after a tour of Phnom Penh's other nightspots.
Heart of Darkness , 26 Street 51. This atmospheric bar is a long-running favourite. Good place to shoot some pool, meet expats and other tourists, and buy the T-shirt. 7pm-late.
La Taverne de Rio , 371 Sisowath Quay. Fun riverside joint with Brazilian cocktails and occasional live music. Food available, including South American specialities. Lunchtime till late.
Martini , 402 Mao Tse Toung Blvd. Western-style disco and bar, with movies on the big screen, inexpensive food on the menu, and girls on the game. 7pm-3am.
Monsoon Bar , 36 Street 214. A bar by week, nightclub at weekends, housed in a smart French colonial building. 5pm-late.
Pink Elephant , 343 Sisowath Quay. Relaxed, backpacker-oriented bar on the river, with cheap drinks, free pool, and board games. Popular after a Happy Herbs pizza next door. 9am-late.
Sharky Bar , 126 Street 130. Busy nightspot, with large bar and balcony. 5-7pm happy hour deals, pool tables, and sports TV. The girls will leave you alone if you ask them politely. Open until 2am.
Tom's Irish Pub , 163 Street 63. Relaxed expat drinkery, with occasional live bands. 3pm-midnight.
Walkabout Hotel , corner of 51 & 174 streets. Twenty-four-hour bar with pool table, restaurant and sports TV. Popular with ageing long-termers, probably because of proximity of nearby bordellos.
