Tokyo Ferries. Double-decker ferries , known as suijo basu (water buses), ply the 35-minute route between the Sumida-gawa River Cruise stations at Asakusa, northeast of the city centre and Hinode Sanbashi, on Tokyo Bay (daily every 40min; to 6.15pm; ¥660). The large picture windows, which give a completely different view of the city than you'll get from the streets, are reason enough for hopping aboard one, especially if you want to visit both Asakusa and the gardens at Hama Rikyu on the same day, and then walk into Ginza. The ferries stop at the gardens en route, and you can buy a combination ticket for the ferry and park entrance for around ¥720.
Hinode Sanbashi (close by Hinode Station on the Yurikamome monorail line or a 10min walk from Hamamatsucho Station on the Yamanote line) is also the jumping-off point for several good cruises around Tokyo Bay and to various points around the island of Odaiba , or across to Kasai Rinkai-koen on the east side of the bay. In bad weather the ferries are best avoided, especially if you're prone to seasickness.
